Module 2 - Choose Your Membership Model

So welcome to module two of the Profitable Membership Formula. I'm really excited about this module because this is where I get to show you lots of examples.
And I hope you did module one if you didn't stop this video and go back and do module one first, because it's critical that you're really, really clear on this idea problem solution.
Okay. So today in this module, we are going to look into the six membership models that are out there and I'm going to share you really concrete examples so you can see the model that they are
using and actually what they offer inside so you're going to be able to look at their sales page and hopefully that will inspire you. The goal of this module is for you to pick your model okay
because this is what's going to help us determine the content that we create for it. I know that one of the frustrations is people don't know how to choose. So hopefully with these
examples and you showing up to the Q&As and asking me questions, we're going to be able to figure this out together. Okay. I know that you might also be worried that you picked the wrong module.
Don't worry about that. This is what the beta program is going to be for, because you're going to be able to test the module and then tweak it to make sure that it works for you and for them.
All right, so what I want you to do is I want to make it super simple for you. So I'm going to show you the six modules from there. You're going to pick one and we're going to be able to run with it.
Okay, so by the end of this module, we have from module one, your business idea. I help established business coaches, you know, for me, I help established business coaches.
we have a busy schedule a full calendar with creating a new revenue stream with a membership program so that they can impact more people okay so that's my sentence so you should have this sentence
already before you do this module once you have that watch this video and then we're going to pick together your membership model okay ready let's go so the first so the first model is what
I call the monthly bundle model. Okay. This is probably the most common membership model. It's quite easy to set up. And it actually makes sense because every month people get a new set of content
on a specific topic or theme. Okay. You can almost think of it like as an online magazine, except that here when you're a member, you have access to everything. So it's much more streamlined.
You can also make it so that if somebody joins in March, they don't have access to the previous content. But for that, you need to make sure that you'll have the tech in place
that can accommodate that quickly, easily automatically. But for the most part, in this monthly bundle model, the idea is that every month that people stay a member,
they get a new set of content, a bundle. We call it a bundle because it can have a combination of things in it, and I'm going to share that with you as examples, okay? So the goal of this module
is to help people move through their member journey. So this is something that we're going to define together in the next module, but it's important that if you have this member journey,
right, you're getting them from point A to point B, you're either teaching them something or you're helping them, you know, achieving a certain goal,
a certain transformation, this model are designed to help them get there, obviously. So the first example that I wanna share with you is called Glitter Bombers.
And in this membership, as you can see, it's currently closed. It's opening in January, 18, 2022. So, but you can get on the waiting list, you know?
So, you know, you were gonna create your interest list, right? But once you have it going, then it becomes a waiting list, right? If your membership is closed.
And you can see here that this membership is designed for homeschoolers and art teachers. And it's designed by a homeschooler and a art teacher. She has a new theme bundle of art projects
every single month. So she has the end-outs, the drawing guides, the resources and much more. and she shares here some examples. So what she does is she provides people,
she saves them time, she provides them quality content. So she releases stress as well for people that are homeschoolers, right? So she's going to say here what she provides,
lessons and plan, a community very important. So you can see here that she has thousands of members all over the world, right? She has plans and resources and a community
and projects library. So she basically here every month adds to the membership so it becomes more and more valuable every month that people stay, okay?
So that's one example of the monthly bundle. The second example I wanna show you is, and you've probably heard of this one, it's the Female Entrepreneurial Association
from Carrie Green. So this is a membership that has been around for quite a few years now. I mean, it's one of the first, I wanna say, really big memberships in the online business world.
It has maybe five or 6,000 members, like it's huge. And what Carrie Green does is every month, there is a new masterclass. There is a new set of content that is being released.
She used to create the content, she doesn't anymore. Now she brings in people. And there is a strong community element in this one. So I'll share the links with you
when you can see there are over 50 business classes, there are virtual meetups, live events, there is a community and a directory of member, see over 5,000 women.
You can have accountability partner set up, you can do co-working sessions. So this is a very large community. This is definitely a membership that you want
to take a look at in terms of their sales page, of their funnel and also in terms of like signing up to their waiting list because she has a great funnel
to build that waiting list, okay? So this is another one more on the business sides. Another one that I wanna share with you that I really, really like is the Painters Club.
So, I mean, watching her is very addictive. She's painting live, I think almost every single day of the week for free. And she's painting and answering questions
and things like that. So our model is very interesting. This is a membership that's very, very, very successful. And what she does is she teaches people
how to paint door hangers. So yes, there is a big business in that. And the club, so this is Tamara here. She's the teacher and she has a team, of course.
And basically the painter's club house as step-by-step tutorials. You can print the templates and things like that. And there is a community, of course.
They have events as well. I know they're doing something for Christmas, for example, where they get together and they paint something together. But she also has a store where when you watch a free stuff,
you can buy some of the door hangers. You know, she paints on wood, the wood stuff. So you can do the same. she has affiliate links on paints and brushes
and things like that. So she's getting a lot of people by sharing a lot of painting live for free online and that gets people hooked and signing up to the membership.
So it's a great one to look at as well because this is one that's very visible. I mean, if you go to a page, you'll see she goes live very often so you can see a marketing.
Sometimes it's hard to see because it all happens in the backend in the email. So we can't see what they are doing. But with this one, I really like it as an example
because you can really get to see, you know, actually what she's doing. And you can see that she has a course and she has a template club. So I think like if you pay a lot less,
you can actually just get the template, but you don't get the tutorials and things like that. And she's got a big, huge free library and of course a shop, okay?
So that's another monthly bundle. It's almost considered, no, it's actually a monthly bundle. The membership itself is alone. It's one more that I wanted to show you
in the monthly bundle space. So this is a client of mine. This is Alicia Stregger. She has thousands and thousands of members. I can't remember how many she has.
But basically what a monthly bundle does here, it saves people time. So she's providing people in the health and wellness industry with content marketing that is done for them
that they just have to tweak and then they can post. So they don't have to think about creating content and things like that and all that consistency in marketing.
She does all of that. And you can see that, so she says she has, you know, over a thousand members and then she's going to, So you can see she's got e-books, social post templates,
graphics, you know, and she's basically saving them time. And you get tons of testimonials of people that are actually showing that it's actually working.
I mean, she's got a ton of them. I know people are really, really happy with this membership and she's got bonuses and things like that. So you can see here, this is another great example
of a sales page where it really shows you how she's laid it out. I mean, this converts really, really well. So that's the model number one, this is the monthly battle module, model number two, I want to talk about is the coaching model.
So the coaching model is very common is a very common membership model as well. The emphasis here is on coaching your members in order to make progress
in some area of their life or business this model is more a hands on environment and when you're providing coaching for your members. Sometimes membership site owners will offer also shared resources, private coaching, you know concierge extra, concierge services where people can work
with you one-on-one. So I'm going to share with you a couple of examples. The first one I want to share is Launch and Thrive by Laura Phillips. So this is Launch and Thrive by Laura Phillips.
And this is basically a group coaching program, except that it's a membership. So it's an ongoing support. So you have group coaching calls. I'm gonna, if we scroll down to what they actually get.
So they got quarterly planning events, monthly hot seat sessions. They get group coaching calls, student community, launch file and templates, launch plans and video trainings,
copy, add, and tag clinics, co-working accountability calls, very important for retention, and a new training each month, and then access to the recordings, okay?
So you can see what they're getting. So you've got a monthly, and you can upgrade to an annual and save a few packs. But that's one, another, you know, membership model
that you can really look at. if you are really, I would say more in the business. So this is really a membership to UCAT because well, it works really well.
It has a lot of content, as you can see, that is being delivered, but it's strategically organized inside so that it doesn't feel overwhelmed. And again, there is this member journey
that people go through inside, so they only get to see what they really need at that moment. Okay? The second one I want to show you is Talyn Akatorian, so she's a client of mine, and
together we created The Sisterhood, and The Sisterhood is basically a membership for women with PCOS that are trying to lose weight, gluten and dairy free.
So this membership has a combination of coaching calls, so we're going to go through there. You can see that she's showing you the five stages of the success path, you know, to get there.
And she is providing a community, group coaching, monthly challenges, and you can also win points and redeem them for certain things, okay? So this is the membership, you know,
28 per month or 25 per month if you pay annually. And this is a membership that works really, really well. It's basically a combination of content.
So you've got recipes, you've got exercises with talents husband, with a personal trainer. And then you get coaching from talent who also has PCOS and has gone through that.
So this is another very... So the next membership model that I wanna share with you is the box membership. So this is actually a physical box. So if you have products that you actually create,
then you can create a membership out of it. And I'm going to share with you a couple of example, one I am a member of, or I was a member of. So the first one I'm going to share is this one,
the box box, because I think this is fun, this is cool. So this is a box for your dog. So every month it gets a box with some toys and cookies and treats and things like that.
So you pay per month and then every month you pay $23 and then you get a box with, you know, things of total value of a 40, okay? So this membership is really all about happiness
and pleasure and just basically having fun, all right? The number, the second one I wanna share with you look hero. So look hero is actually a membership that I used to belong to and basically every
month so you have a personal shopper so you enter you know a whole bunch of your your style your size your age and basically they create boxes you know with five items in it that they ship to you and
then if you want to keep them you pay otherwise you just return them. So this is a very fun this This one is all about saving time. So this is an example of a box.
So you have five items, and the box looks like this. And basically, every month that you stay a member, you get a new box. So you can say, I want a box every two months,
or every three months, or things like that. You can pause the membership. But that's the idea. Every month that you pay, you get clothes that you get to buy or return.
So they basically shop for you. Another example that I want to, so that's the box membership. So the box membership is really like the UPS model. It's like you're delivering a package of content to someone.
So you can keep in mind that this can be physical or digital content, but usually with a box we talk about a physical. So it can be some people do candles,
Some people do shoes, you know, it can be, you know, like I said, you know, clothes, so it can be really many things. Delivery occur on a weekly or a monthly basis.
It really depends on what you're, you know, on the boxes. But they are commonly seen on e-commerce sites. So the people that actually already sell physical stuff
can create a membership so that people can get things, you know, on an ongoing basis. there are some for socks, for coffee, for tea, for underwear, for like, you know, every, you know,
every item that you buy that you need to buy more than once, pretty much will have a membership. Okay. So that's the box model for physical stuff. Then number four, we have the community. So this model gives people
with a shared interest, a place, a safe space to gather and interact with one another. So I'm going to share with you two examples here. The first one is a client of mine.
This is Christine Abram and she runs the Bible Cafe University. So it's obviously all centered around the Bible and how to apply the Bible to your daily life. This is Christine Abram and
it's 17 per month and you can see that they get group meetings, printable worksheets, and monthly webinars with authors and guests. Okay, so that's the Bible Cafe. It's heavily
community-based even though you can see that there is some content, right? Another one is called the Goodman Project. And this one, it's basically a social group. It's for like-minded individuals,
we are working to change the world. So it's very generic. I shared it with you because it's a bit different than others, but it's heavily based on community. There are live recording classes,
and there is weekly calls and one you can find out more about exactly what there is, right? So this is another example of a community-based membership. Model number five is the modular
or the dripping model. So this is basically just like a course, except that your content is delivered over a longer period of time, usually a year or two, and in a sequential order. So you
You want to use that model when you are trying to get people from point A to point B and you want them to do things in a certain order, right? So maybe a course is going to be four, six, eight weeks, membership that is drip could
be a year or two, right, for them to get through the whole journey at their own pace, okay? So let me show you two examples for this. So the first one that I have picked is Susan Bradley.
So this is classed by Anna Reunion and this is basically a group coaching program set up as a drip. So as you can see here, so that's our login and then our classes.
And basically the content is getting dripped, you know, as they are progressing. So you can see now there is a waiting list because it's, it doesn't open all the time.
I don't know exactly how she does it, but it sounds like she might be opening it for people to go through it at the same time. That is entirely possible.
And then finally, the model number six is the combo. This is where you have a combination of all of this, right? So the first one I wanna share with you
is Susan Bradley with the social sales girls. So this is her page, this is her inner circle. This is how she calls her membership. And this is so, the cost is 44 per month, as you can see.
And in the inner circle, you're getting a step-by-step proven plan, access to a growing library of downloadable worksheets, support feedback and insert on live monthly
called clinics Q&A sessions, a community, a backstage pass to watch us grow our membership. so I don't know exactly what that looks like, but you also have access to co-share services
for one-on-one help if you need to, okay? So this is a great example of a combination of a community, a content that was probably some dripped content as well.
You know, the step-by-step is probably dripped with progress tracking and things like that. Another combo that I wanna share with you is Julie Whistler.
So she's a client and basically we created the sacredology with her. So it's the school of sacredology because basically, and what that is, it's a combination of,
it has grown, but right now it has access to quite a few things. So you have the sacred life calls, which are monthly calls. You have secret master classes.
So this is where she interviews a guest expert and you get access to the replay. You have a manifestation course that you have access as part of being a member.
You have a manifesto contract that you make with yourself. And then you have a nutrition assessment that helps you find out more about who you are.
She's got resources, a guided meditation library. So this, the way we build this, basically we grabbed our most popular meditations and then we turned them into a meditation library.
She also has a community, a member directory and an accountability body system. So this is another great example of a combo and it actually has evolved, right?
She's been adding to it, you know, as she's getting more members and she's getting clear on where she wants this platform to go. So those are basically the six modules.
So if we recap, we have number one, the monthly bundle. So this is where every month, people get some type of content. You can drip it once a month,
or you can drip content every week for a month on a specific theme or topic. And then every month you change topic. You have the coaching model. So this is where you are helping people by coaching them
through a process, a method that you have. So that usually involves calls where they can ask questions where they can brainstorm ideas and things like that and most of the time some type of community.
Then you have the box membership which is the physical box membership where physically you ship something to people. Then you have the community. The community model is basically
when your membership is centered primarily on creating a safe space for people to support each other. That can also include you know resources and things like that and events but it's mostly
the people joined for the community aspect. Then number five you have the module drip model. So that's when you are doing something very similar to a course but it takes much longer like it can
take a year or two. So you're dripping content and providing some time of support and you make people pay you know every month to get access to that and they kind of go at their own pace.
And then you have the last module, which is the combo where you have a combination of these modules. So very often you'll see people have a combination of community and then some combination of content,
either a monthly bundle or a dripped, you know, model if it's kind of like a course. So those are your six modules. So now I want you to pause the video and then pick one or two if you're not sure.
Which is the one that you feel resonates the most with you and the way you want to support people, right? A big element that you want to think about is the community aspect and how much you want to be involved.
That is going to dictate your model, right? If you don't want to be involved a lot and it's really going to be more about sharing content than the monthly bundle is great.
If it's really about getting access to you more than anything else than you creating content and maybe you creating events, experiences together, you
know, implementation sessions and things like that, then the community, you know, model, you know, could work. All right, so post a video, pick your model,
and then let me know which one you picked, okay? I'll see you on the next video where we're going to talk about your content structure. So now that we have the model,
we're going to come up with the structure. What content they get when, how is it structured, how are you gonna create it, what support and accountability piece we're going to build.
Okay, I'll see you on the next video.
